Michael’s Ipad
In November 2011 I bought an ipad. I wanted one. Kate encouraged me to “just do it.” However, as soon as it arrived it was set up as “Kate’s Ipad” (her email, etc.) and some mischievous child set the “restrictions code” and immediately forgot what it was.
Anyway, for more than six months now this has been on my “to do” list to change.
Today I finally called Apple and they told me (after waiving the service fee) how to restore the factory settings and start over.
Of course this strategy also deleted all of the content, and I had to figure out how to re-download all of the music and apps and photos and books and podcasts.
A couple of hours later, I think it’s finally all done. And the thing is re-named “Michael’s Ipad.
Feels kind of strange. Now I know why I waited eight months. What an anxiety provoking process. But now I can get my email, and I can set the restrictions and manage the device better.
And one long-standing item is off my list (there are a couple others; one thing at a time).
Happy Family Day, eh.
